Long Agribusiness was located in Tarboro NC, they sold imported tractors under their label until they where purchased by the Escort Group of India in 1998 and the name was changed to Farmtrac.
Prier to the purchase Escort built Ford tractors for the India market, Farmtrac is a combination of Ford and Long component designs.
Farmtrac USA filed for bankruptcy in 2008 and was purchased by Montana Tractors who sold off the remaining inventory under the Montana Limited name before discontinuing those models.
I've done a little research on this as I have a Montana Limited/Farmtrac 555 in my shop replacing the engine with one from a Ford.
