Be honest. Tell him that you can't figure it out and let him take it to an authorized service dealer and see what they say is wrong with it. Take it to them with the understanding that they are to troubleshoot it, but get his approval before doing any EXPENSIVE repairs. No need in letting it worry you to death. Sometimes the smartest thing to do is admit that you can't figure it out and go to someone else. I've had to do it.
