Dang, my wife called me to dinner before I could finish what I wanted to say. Prior to the 2018 Silverado I had purchased a used 2014 Chevy 3/4, 4x4, diesel, crew cab with 6 and 1/2 foot box. It did not have towing mirrors so I found some manual extend, power adjust at a bone yard. It had a Rhino lined bodx, running boards wheel well to wheel well, a trifold tunneau cover and E rated tires. It required DEF and got lousey fuel economy, empty. I sold it 6 months later to buy my 2018 Silverado in January of 2018. The 2018 is bonus cab 4 door (not a crew cab) 6 and 1/2 foot box. I have added the Rhino liner, tunneau cover, E rated Michelin Tires to replace the original stock, added airbags to the rear axle, mud flaps and running boards. My summer months I have a 6 and 1/2 foot slide in camper and I pull a 24' enclosed trailer to tractor show flea markets. Inside is a 12' wagon gear with my "wares" and a Clubcar golf cart. Mileage is about 7-8mpg. Last summer my wife and I drove to Wisconsin near Milwaukee to see the Union Pacific 2014 Big Boy steam engine. In one 25 mile stretch, the truck registered 28.7mpg. Best economy is around 60-65mph. At 23,400 miles, I'm happy.
