I have a 30 bale thrower on my JD 336 baler. They are a little different to operate than a belt type kicker but overall a good unit. Places to check are the arms that hook on the thrower cross shaft, I had one crack and had to weld it 10-15 years ago. Also check the pins in the aluminum thrower pan for excess wear and the springs on the latch that locks the pan till the thrower is tripped. There is a small lever that locks out the thrower for baling onto the ground and for safety purposes. I have seen a model 30 on a 24t but it was years ago and I can’t remember if it had an added pulley or they changed the flywheel or just ran the belts on the smooth 24t flywheel. There is a fellow about an hour west of me who specializes in the JD square balers. Look up Finger Lakes Equipment, Penn Yan NY they also sell used and new parts and should be able to help you. I have dealt with them before for parts and have always been satisfied .

Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
