I would not use a truck that big to heavy, will always be getting looked at by DOT, and mostly to much climbing to get to things like putting fuel in the welder or air compressor. A ton with duals would be heavy enough for the job. They can still be outfitted with cranes. I would put my air compressor opposite of my welder for balance. right behind the cab with boxes behind that on both sides. I would not put them under the deck to much dirt,dust,andjunk, from the tires slinging on them. Keeping rod in the shop till needed for moisture control in the rod.
