I would get with the local salvage yard, ask them what will fit. They have cross reference information of what parts will interchange.
Then if you do find a good, low mileage engine, go ahead and pay the core charge, keep your old engine until you get the swap done.
That way if anything is different, missing, or broken, you will still have the original parts to take off the original engine. Sometimes the salvage yard employees are less than gentle when pulling the engine, things get cut and ripped instead of disconnected. Saves running back and forth, having to buy parts.
Then once the job is complete, return the old engine for the core charge.
But, seriously think this through. You are investing a considerable amount of money and time in this. Is it really going to be worth it? I understand sometimes we do what we have to do, just be sure you are up to the challenge and have the resources.
