That money is already gone. Long ago. Scan tools will read a basic amount of info. 32 variables? Other codes may show up on a scan tool with "Definition Not Available" meaning it is a dealership proprietary code and you get to go the the dealer to get it fixed. The basic 32 lines were set up by the feds and the automakers and will effectively keep your car running. Might not run too good, but it should stay running. The proprietary codes help to fine tune it. Henry Ford, You familiar with him? Back in the day, Henry told Congress he would sell his cars at $2 over cost if the owners had to buy all the replacement parts from him. Well, Dealership proprietary codes have now done just that. BMW and VW were the worst. Others have followed suit. If you pop the hood and cant see the engine, figure you will be spending money at the dealership. Good luck with that one.
