Now for use it is about 12 miles one way to the fertilizer plant . Now we don't have Mountains to run up and down but we do have some really steep hills that will take the wind out of your sails fast . when i would broad cast with a buggy with my first Pick up even with the 428 under the hood and 4.10 gears i had several hills that would suck the life out fast but we would bring six ton each trip . Then it was the 88Ford F 350 with a 460 then into the cummins with the wick turned up but the hills are still the same . The Teegarden hill , the hill on 518 the Butler grange hill and the Winoa Bridgewater hill yep they will let ya know just how much HORSE POWER YOUR LACKING. And not the hills for Automatics as i have seen several times where and automatic could not get to the top when it was pulled down to torque convert stall speed.. Trust me we know all about cost , probably why we all are driving OLD stuff . My truck is a 95 , my one buddy has a 89 Chevy my other two friend both have 2001 Dodges . Yep we all NEED new trucks but there are two reasons we won't be buying NEW trucks , (1) there are over 54000 reasons i will nor my buddy be buying a new truck and each one is a DOLLAR SIGN and reason (2) is we can no longer get a standard shift . Then with us ya got to factor in our age as we are NOT spring chickens anymore . Not long ago we were complaaining to the feed mill when they did away with the 100 # feed sacks that we got our soy meal in and went to the 50 # paper bags . After my little trip to the cleveland Clinc last May that 40 Lb bag of dog food is about doing me in from the trunk of the car up four steeps and the walk thru the kitchen. .
