Well...those who know me will probably tell you that while I do some crazy stuff (like farming for a side line), I was not born yesterday. He asked me could I bring the planter to him and pick up the tractor. That would be an emphatic no. Planter has end transport but it does not hook onto a truck without extensive modification. Then I would have to drive the tractor home. Done that before...but not going to do it this time. 150 mile rides on tractors you know nothing about were an indulgence of my younger days. People would forgive me. But a guy the age I am today sitting on the side of the road 100 miles from home with a broken tractor? People expect I would know better. No matter. He took a powder when I told him I could not deliver it. By the by, just in case he was on the level, I told him the planter needed work and he would be making a bad deal. Haven't heard from him since.
