I can't answer your part number question, but if there is a local starter/alternator/generator shop near by, they can probably match any part needed at a fraction of the cost.
As for using a different starter, it is common for different starter manufacturers to make a starter for the same engine. If it will mount, have the same gear tooth count, same rotation, and not interfere with any other components, it should work.
That is another advantage the starter shop will have, they know about substitute parts and cross referencing, known problems and preferred products, price advantages.
