I had a run of issues with my Ford 4610SU due to some bad fuel. After messing up my original Cav pump, I got one of the Romanian licensed replacements and new injectors. I put the pump on and what was a quick starting, low smoking tractor turned into a hard starting and smokey tractor that is less than exciting to go out to.
I set the timing to 0 as in the manual and I torqued the new injectors to spec. The smoke, at least in warm weather, is quite white. This had been the case before swapping the injectors so replacing them helped it not smoke so much after it warms up, but it isn't the same tractor. I read that white smoke is due to excess fuel but the smoke isn't always white. Adjusting timing is a pain in the neck because of access to the bolt in the back.
Is there an easy way to test the new injectors? Has someone else faced this? I'd really like it to be reliable again.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
