Very nice collection SV! Those 4000 series were great tractors and many are still going today. Our neighbours were die hard Massey guys. They had a new 2705,2745 and 2775. Those were massive tractors in their time. As many of us know they were prone to constant transmission issues. Within a year after playing tractor tag they were all gone. They were replaced by 2 4440’s and 1 4450. They ran those for I’m going to say 12-13 years. At one point they also had a 2950 and a 4855. Those 3 4400 tractors were replaced with 2 7700’s and a 7800 soon as they were released. To this day the son whose my age is still a Deere fan but do to dealer monopolies and service/parts inventory taking the hit they have added a Fendt and M7 Kubota to their lineup.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
