In his book, "Ghosts In The Air", Martin Cadin tells of an airplane pilot who had a major heart attack with heart muscle damage when he was in his '60's. He was more of a "barnstormer" pilot, doing a lot of flying for movies, flying everything from Piper Cubs to WWII bombers. He was lying in a hospital bed with his wife in the room.
A doctor told him he could live another 20 years, but he'd have to give up drinking, smoking, and flying. He asked the doctor, "Do you call that living"? He then told his wife to kiss him "Goodbye". After she came over and kissed him, he folded his arms across his chest, stopped his heart, and died on the spot.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
