There is a ratcheting type device now on the market that will eliminate many of the non-live PTO problems that these guys have mentioned. It allows you to put your PTO in and out of gear with the implement drive shaft still turning. It will also minimize the pushing problem. It attaches directly to your tractor's PTO shaft and the implement driveshaft in-turn attaches to it. The price is around $70.00 and it can be found at most tractor dealers. Quality Farm and Fleet also carries them.
