The PTO will not provide power with the main clutch pushed in. It will if the Heisler lever is in either position. The Heisler unit is a high capacity friction clutch, that is disconnecting one set of final drive pinion/Bull gears. This is the same as having a steering clutch in a dozer, except this has a differential and when one side is disconnected, the internal gears act like that wheel is on ice, and the other wheel does nothing. Thus the tractor stops, and the transmission keeps going, powering the PTO shaft. It is still necessary to use the main clutch to shift gears, as all internal gears will turn and grind if the main clutch is not pushed in when shifting. There is a over center type retention/detent at the handle linkage that needs to be adjusted. I have no adjustment information. I hope the sources below help. Jim
