If memory serves me correctly, which gets less likely each year, it was a continental engine and Clark tranny. Only parts common to the vac was rear wheels. Don’t know how it worked out but the vac engine was a new engine but continental built it for them in their plant until 45 or so when they got set up to build all on their own in Rock Island. Engine bearings were interchangeable with a continental engine. One of the frustrating things on the vc was the cheap mag that made it hard starter. I think they were a reliable tractor other than that. Andy
