For the planners of a show deciding whether or not to have the show is a huge gamble this summer. Most shows are on a tight budget, they can not afford to lose money. It takes a lot of money to put on a show, some of that money is spent during the off season doing repairs and new construction but the large majority of the money spent is for actually running the show when it happens. So for a show that happens later in the summer like this coming August, if the nation is opened up again and the organizers decide to have a show, will a big enough crowd show up to pay the bills? What if a show needs 10,000 people through the gate to break even and only 5000 show up? It could be devastating to the financial well being and the future of the show. This summer will be one for the record books for sure.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
