This is definitely on topic and a peeve of mine too......jacking up the height of the beds! Why? Make room for the few sporters that like to run "Monster Mudders? Leave room for you folks up North to install tire chains? Keep the styling while making room for big mils under the hood.....what big mils..everybody is downsizing cubes.....maybe room for the "blowers".
Mine is a 2011 Silverado 1500 2wd, V8 pushrod 4.9, no fancy valve timing or any of that.....4 speed auto. body is higher off the frame than I'd like but I have gotten used to it. Sitting on 44k mines today. Will be my last truck especially since I recently bought a pristeen 2009 Honda Element for running to town on non-farm errands.
