In addition to the other excellent questions how does the starter sound when you spin it off the tractor with jumper cables? If it sounds good then check your ground cable and your cable ends. The wrong number of teeth on the bendix could be an issue as could the wrong solenoid even though it has been replaced. Most of my problems with starters on Masseys has been related to solenoids clicking. When I have had a "chattering" it was due to a weak battery. Good Luck with it!
