They are darned tough old workhorses.
I just put a new starter on an 855 for a customer yesterday, same basic tractor with a little more Cummins in it!
Wheel seals tend to leak, not a REAL big deal, but messy.
With age and hours the shift "tower" mechanism mounted to the cab floor can wear and the transmission will occasionally stay in gear when the lever is moved to "neutral".
Takes a bar and/or a pipewrench and a little persistence to crawl underneath and pop the offending shift lever on the transmission into neutral to match with the lever position.
For some uses, hydraulics are the big downfall, open center, and not enough flow for air seeder or chemical applicator fans, if that's an issue, aftermarket higher flow updates are available.
