We used to have some old dealers of machinery lines. Allis Chalmers was Hagen & Wood in Owosso MI they had Allis, New Holland, New Idea, Gehl, Killbros, The full line of Allis including the Gleaner combines. S&W equipment was the local Case dealer in Corunna MI Case, and some other short lines of equipment. Don't remember which ones now. Crowe Implement in Owosso MI was the Oliver then later the White dealer. These all went out in the 70's - 80's. Then there was Cook&Cook had the IH dealer ship in Owosso MI gone before me. Dad's H was bought new there in 53. The building became an auto parts house for several years and now is part of the tire and wheel alignment shop intown. John Deere dealer has moved several times over the last 60or so years. It was Hathaway I believe I have heard then somebody else then later it was Owosso Implement. Now is D&G equipment. Full line of Deere and has the Stihl and EXmark lawn dealerships too. We used to have about 3 Ih dealers back in the 60's then till the Tennaco buyout 2 dealers then when Case was merged with IH the other one went out. So now just 1 left. Our local Ford dealer Is Loyd Miller&sons. They used to have the full line of ford and after the Allis dealer closed in the 60's had the New Holland hay equipment too. They were also a pretty big dealer for the green Stiegers back in the day also. I could come up with some of the addresses of these old dealers if somebody was going to compile these on a list. If not an adress at least the town and road/street they were on. There are probably a few I have forgot.

I worked as a machinist and engine erector, with time spent overseas. I have always had a love for machinery, and an appreciation for farming and farm machinery. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Not a place one would associate with farms or farm machinery. I credit my parents for instilling a lot of good values, a respect for learning, a knowledge of various skills and a little knowledge of farming in me, amo
