I've recently bought a Sherman Power Digger 54B900. The Prince HC-PTO-4 pump seems to work correctly, as I did get most of the cylinders to operate. The pressure gauge showed 500 psi but also stuck afterward, so I plan to replace that anyway. The pump has a PTO adapter/mount that bolts to the back of the 9N, which is great. However it's 1 1/8"; I just bought a new 1 3/8" PTO unit from YT. I did slide the 1 1/8"-to-1 3/8" PTO adapter into the other side of the pump to verify size. But... I can't use my new PTO unless I can get the current PTO adapter/mount out of the pump. What the heck holds it in there??
I am trying to find a manual/parts diagram for the Sherman 54B900. I've seen links for models like 54C100 but nothing for 54B900 and don't know how similar they are. I've emailed Prince Hydraulics asking for a spec sheet and parts diagram for the pump, no response yet. One of the hydraulic valves has a selector on it. The hose on the back (bucket curl) is near the top, the hoses on the sides (outriggers) are closer to the bottom. I assume the little nubbins have to be lined up with the hose to operate the corresponding function. I assumed I had to line up with the hose out the back; that only gives me bucket curl and one outrigger. It just occurred to me that I probably have to line up a nubbin with each lower side hose for each outrigger. I had not tried that; good chance I may be retarded. Can anyone clarify the operation of this little gizmo? I do have the frame/running gear from an old Gehl grinder/mixer. I'm seriously considering mounting the backhoe on this instead of on the 9N. It would essentially be a towed backhoe with the pump mounted close to the front of the frame and run with a standard PTO shaft from the tractor. The subframe on the tractor that the backhoe is supposed to mount on... I want to slightly modify that but keep it on the tractor. I'd like to put a crossmember where the drawbar mount is on the newer tractors and install the same kind of setup that's on my brother's '53 Golden Jubilee.
Thanks; your time and suggestions are appreciated.

Today's Featured Article - Hydraulics - Cylinder Anatomy - by Curtis von Fange. Let’s make one more addition to our series on hydraulics. I’ve noticed a few questions in the comment section that could pertain to hydraulic cylinders so I thought we could take a short look at this real workhorse of the circuit. Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
