Seems I seldom see farmers roll soy plants. In thinking back many thought the practice would increase yield. Practice proven wrong in Nebraska, and Dakotas test. Some used the practice to push rocks down for smoother harvest. Seems severe damage would result, according damage only happens AFTER the plant has grown to the four leaf stage.I always plants were not broken till perhaps 8 to ten leaf stage. Also practice of rotary hoe use should be done at above 6 miles per hour and not faster than 12. Spoon type teeth on the how will cause more damage than spike teeth. Personally I thought any hosing was necessary only to brake crust or in some cases to remove shallow rooted grass or weeds. What is the opinion of the soy farmers on this board??????
