Look up ‘MFP Payments.’ They had a complicated equation to subsidize a small percent of what different grain types lost due to the trade war. We can argue over what is fair, what should and shouldn’t have been done, what was costly, what was lost, and on and on.
Ag has really been kicked in the gut by a lot of different things over the past 18 months, so be careful how much hate you add in to the discussion. No one likes govt payments, everyone just trying to get by and get the bills paid these days.
