The problem is that COVID-19 is nondiscriminal, not political, and you can't reason/bully with it. It's all about a risk factor. A few people distancing and wearing a mask gives you an 80% chance of preventing it. Add in washing hands and you get to 95%.
The reason why democrat Gov states are sp restrictive, us that they are hit the hardest due to concentrated population and international travel. I live in michigan, and known of several people who have gotten Covid. My neighbor who was in a nursing home died from it.
But I grew up on a farm. Used to diseases and being smart about it. Most city people have no clue how bad a disease can be and thus think this is a joke. I remember a year when we lost 500 turkeys to a liver disease when I was young. Or a blight went through 50 acres of sweet corn.
But again, most non farmers dont have the experience to respect the issue. So rules have to be made. As my grandpappy used to say, rules are made to make the community work when they no longer respect the other person. It sucks, but for me (53) who takes care of my elderly parents, and my 95 year old grandmother, it means possibility of death for us all.
I will miss the shows, but I am using my regrets to fuel getting to some of my iron to have ready for next summer. I am working on two f12s, two regulars, a 15hp fairbanks morse, a doodlebug and a john deere D. I have all summer.
