I always farmed with older used equipment but did buy a demo round baler years ago and about wore it out.We milked 40-50 cows and spent a good bit of time working on our older slower equipment. I had friends that milked 70-80 cows and ran new or almost new equipment. Looking back we worked harder with our smaller equipment to get our work done than they did doing almost twice the work and in the end I think they ended up with more profit. We kept our equipment good enough that we never had any crop losses of poor quality feed because of our equipment.Nothing at all wrong with trading while you still have good value in the trade in. If your per bale cost is acceptable no reason not to run the new one. Tom
