Hello Kevin. After reading all the post below, I would remove the screws holding the point plate in place, remove it and look for the screw in the bottom of the distributor housing. You should be able to do this without removing the distributor from the tractor or disturbing your timing. If not there and you have the proper tap and you find a screw but the threads are stripped in the plate, then weld up the hole, re-drill and re-thread for your new screw. Warning: If the screw in down in the lower part of the dist. where the weights are it could lock up the shaft and strip the drive pin or strip the distributor gear.
