You need to work backwards to figure out the gear reduction that you want/need. Figure out what RPM you want the engine to turn at. For arguments sake let's say that is 30 RPM, or full stroke of the piston in one direction in one second. You can lookup what the engine RPM of the A is when at PTO speed. That will give you the gear ratio through everything in the tractor itself. I'm going to say it's roughly 2 to 1 to keep the discussion moving. So the pto will turn at 15rpm when the engine is at 30 RPM. If you use a 1750 RPM electric motor you will need rough a reduction of 116:1 to get to your desired pto speed.
You probably can shop around and find something close enough.
Oh and I am an engineer and own an original 720/730 cutaway tractor. I would be glad to help you figure out this as best as possible.

But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out. After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
