If you are getting half a bale, you have started a bale, if there was something stopping the movement inside, the baler would likely keep eating hay and break a shear pin. There is only the one roller connected to the springs on the side that moves, but this all moves when you open the tailgate, so I'd think anything jamming would be evident.
If you eject the bale just as it "pukes out" is the bale formed, or just a pile of hay?
I run a 630 and if the hay is too dry or really short it doesn't want to start a bale easy and makes a mess, lower PTO RPM and stay in same gear and often it will start a bale easy.
