I do not like herbicides any more than anybody else, but herbicides have allowed us to no till To save our soil from blowing and washing away. Years ago we plowed everything black and raging dust storms ensued, filling fence rows with and road ditches with soil. I no till my soybeans into standing corn stalks so obviously there is no wind erosion happening in those fields. The bean stubble is field cultivated once before planting but the left over corn stalk residue from two years before along with the bean residue holds the soil just well enough to keep it from blowing. The past few days have been awful windy but we had no blowing soil Anywhere.
