We used to have several tricycle front wheel drive 2 blade mowers. Verticle shaft engine drove blades with belt underneath and front wheel worm drive chain to front wheel had pulley under steering wheel driven by belt from top of engine. Only one speed and very maneuverable as steering wheel was simply mounted on front wheel fork .A little tippy .

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion.
