What a artistically generalized mess!
It claims to be a "Red Belly" 8N, but it has the smooth rear hubs and 4 spoke steering wheel of an early 9N, the rear wheel bolt pattern is 9N-2N (already mentioned) the hidden mounting bolt doglegs of a 9n or early 2N, the hood has no air intake grille nor "Ford" script like an 8N would have, there are no running boards and theres not even any gear lube leaking past the axle seals and running down the inside of the rear tires like a REAL 8N would have!
True the "8N" was named that because it came out OFFICIALLY in 1948, but they were available in mid-1947 as a 1948 model, so the "1947-1952" is kinda correct, but Ford obviously given its designation, never referred to any 8N as a 1947 model tractor

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
