One of the best plumbers I have known was totally blind. One day the electricians said they had to turn off power to the house we were building so everyone should find something to do outside for about 2 hours. Electrician working with a helper with flashlight went into the bathroom to check a light switch and there was our plumber working away. They told him electricity has been turned off so he can't be working in the dark. "Why didn't someone tell me?" He worked right thru his break.
Also knew someone that was blind from a car accident. During a business downturn some people were laid off at work. Others were assigned different jobs where needed. This man was given a new job, forklift driver. He told the foreman to have someone tell everyone to stay out of the aisles and he would get to work. Foreman didn't think this was a good idea so he was given a different job. Good old Cummins Engine Company!

Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
