If its like the other Yanmar tractors I have worked on the brakes are two shoes to a side that expand out as the brakes are applied about as simple of a set up as it comes.The problem sometimes is the shaft that operates the brakes get rusted tight where it goes thru the housing.Do NOT get rough with it or you will break the housing.Hoye tractor has parts breakdowns on their website.
