First thing make sure brakes work good. Several years ago I pulled neighbors Ford, size bigger than yours, out of his pond after dunking it because he did not fix brakes he knew were not working. Took 2 tractors to pull it out, one pulling forward as he went in backward but due to hin pond bank one hooked to pull from side to keep it from rolling over. Now I had one of those models so I know what it is and what it is capable of doing. It is a light weight tractor so you need all the weight you can get in the rear tires because and time you try to put boat in ramp will be wet. Fill the rear tires with heaviest fluid you can get and that is calcium or rim guard, no washer fluid as it is not heavy enough, Then get a set of wheel weights for rear wheels. Depending on ramp surface possibly a set of tire chains and consider finding and installing dual rear wheels (had those on mine for working ground) You deed absou;ty all the rear wheel weight you can get or you are going to slide back into the water. And for that you don't need the PTO and DO NOT TRY USING THE 3 POINT HITCH to handle the boat, way to mich movement in it, YOU WILL LOSE CONTROL. You would have to lock it sollid and if yoy do that then if the 3 point control got moved up you would at least bend things up if not breaking something. If it does not have the aftermarket swing drawbar get one and set it in short position with bent to top for traction and keeping front end on ground. Those drawbars are sold here on this site. Other posters do not know that model tractor like I do. It has a full time live hydrolic pump and that is why you cannot lock the 3 point hitch sollid. Depending on toung weight of boat trailer you might also need front wheel weighted to keep front end on ground, also will depend on slope of ramp.

Today's Featured Article - A Question for Dads This recent topic from the Tractor Talk discussion board is being highlighted because it is an awesome display of the caliber of individuals that have made this site their own. The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
