HAD a 2013- 7040 with FWA, loader and cab and weights on rear wheels. It had some good features - easy on fuel, simple, started good in winter. BUT it all depends on what you want it for. Kubotas of this size are very handy for hobby farms and light duty work - NOT for general farm type work. Loaded manure- it was too heavy for the front end - fortunately repairs were covered by dealer. Had to get out the Ford 6640 to haul gravity boxes as 100 bushel was too heavy for the Kubota going down a hill - almost needed a change of pants. It had enough power to run a smaller round baler, but a full bale would cause it to rock. Everybody seems to love Kubotas, but that size is meant for lighter work. Now have a John Deere- little more horse, lots more weight and a much more usable tractor for farm work. Another nice thing about the Kubota - got a great deal trading it in, but had to find the right dealer, the first one i tried wouldn't even come out and look at it, same with another dealership with another brand. Think carefully, even though it says 70 horsepower, it is really sized like a 45 horse tractor. Good luck

This story is about the day my Grandfather Brown (true name) decided along with my parents to purchase a new Ford tractor. It wasn't really new except to us. The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
