I have three of them (one Snap-On, and one Mac, and one with no name that measures amps in the 4 to 10 range. They are accurate enough to be diagnostic, not accurate enough for a science project. They have a set of guides on the back to position the wire, and need to be against the wire in that guide. Very simple, and if the starter should draw 180 amps, and pegs the 600 amp mark, there are issues. Jim
