The alignment of a Ujoint is a complex 3 dimensional task.. Your joints are in Phase, but that does not provide assurance of smooth action. Not only must they be aligned as yours are, but the total angle from axial straightness must be the same on both ends, and that includes the offset such that the two ends accelerate and decelerate the speed of the main length equally and simultaneously. (center lines of input yoke, and output yoke need to be coplaner. Yours was not before the adjustment. The mower's rotating mass is probably greater than the shafts and collars in the transmission, so they rattled, not the mower. Jim
