Growing up the row crop farm was an hour from the home livestock farm. At the home place (cows) we had an 8N as our loader tractor. It was amazing what one could accomplish with sheer determination and that little sucker. It didn’t even have a live pump - we just chained down the three point arms and had single acting cylinders. I usually wished I had the 966 IH loader tractor we kept at the other farm but we got by just fine.
I row crop with new(we) equipment and have cattle now but still have an 8N. I spend hours on it each summer mowing lines to run electric fence. They are still a good little tractor if you don’t expect them to run a foot race or build a shopping mall. I sure wouldn’t hook onto the 46 foot field cultivator with it!
