I am not familiar with the 530 however I purchased a Howard Price commercial walkbehind last spring. Their are 2 dealers near me, one is also a JD dealer the other is a Toro/howard price dealer. Mine is a 48" with a 14HP kawasaki motor. I had looked at the mower new at the dealer. They are comparable in price to the Toro. The walkbehinds are easy to compare between brands, there are so few components. The howard Price had the same transmission as the Toro and the Ferris. All the other features were in line with it's price range. I found one used, 2 yrs old with 200 hrs. It was selling for roughly 1/2 the new cost. I have had no problems with the mower and have found it to be quite easy to operate and maintain. For anyone with a lot of grass (that's not that smooth) and a bad back the walkbehind is the way to go.
