Also, i have been looking into the idea of replacing the motor with a good used 3-53. However, from what I can tell by internet research, there are 8 different models of this motor with some even having different rotations of clockwise or counter clockwise. Also, the Exhaust, and Air Pump, and starter, etc with all different variations in different locations. I have a RH starter and Exhaust, LH Air Pump, and I believe its a clockwise rotation but ill have to verify that today.
My question is, will any 3-53 work no matter which rotation and which side everything is on? Or do I have to have a clockwise rotation with a RH Starter and exhaust and LH air pump? Could i take and 3-53 and just bolt it up and it works? Will the transmission work no matter which direction the motor rotation is? Will the Hyd. Pump work no matter which direction the motor rotates?
Im not even close to being a mechanic but it would be alot easier and quicker if i just swapper the motor although the problem with this one could be cheap and simple repair(???)
Thanks everyone, I appreciate your input and advice!
