Responding to your messages about tractor graveyard

This post references my notice put in the want ad section about the "Fabled Tractor Graveyard" I didnt realize i would receive as many messages as I have requesting help. I plan on printing them off and if I think the yard owner is receptive to it (i.e. it wont pi** him off) I'll see if he'll work with me.

Answers to questons many of you have:

1. What is the location?

Well its here in Wyoming, and you guys from Wyoming have most likely been there. More then that I dont want to say, and risk the wrath of the owner who may not want the number of phone calls it would generate (based on the number of emails I got).

2. What kind of "stuff" does he have?

A rough estimate is Over half is JD, with MF and Farmall mixed to make another 1/4. The other 1/4 is crazy mix of just about everything you could think of. I even saw some sort of Dodge tractor which I estamate is from the 1920's. A few dozen horse drawn peices. A couple duce and half trucks and of-course some modern peices. There is none of the "big" tractors.

3. What do you mean by "fabled"?

Ok I got a little creative there. Its not fabled in any way, shape, or form. Its just a family run yard serving the surrounding comminity.

------------------------------------------------
Some of you have given instructions on how to get certain peices off without damage. I welcome these helpful instructions if your peice is of such a nature.

I will attempt to take a roll of film of some of the more interesting peices and post them. However keep in mind we have currently have 6 inches of snow and the wind chill is -27. It will be while before I take a road trip.

Steve

Today's Featured Article - Choosin, Mounting and Using a Bush Hog Type Mower - by Francis Robinson. Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
