Today I attended a small farm sale about 20 miles SW of me...The seller was 93 years old..It was a nice day and there was a large crowd....This is only my second sale for 2020 as there haven't been very many...It only took about two and half hours to sell things.. A straight nice running 1966 model 4020 JD diesel sold for $9,900....It had one new rear tire and I doubt that it had been worked very hard..It stayed in the neighborhood..I guessed it at $7,000-9,000 and missed it.. 1999 Chevy 1500 4x4 with 199,000 miles sold for $$2,200...It was straight but had a little rust. 2003 Chevy S-10 4x2 with 140,000 miles sold for $3,200..It was pretty nice. 1995 American State by New Mar 32 ft bumper pull travel trailer sold for $4,700-it was nice Ford dump truck sold for $1,300...It ran before the sale but wouldnt start during it. The IH rake sold for $290 and the Bush Hog for $425. This decent 14 ft Allis Chalmers disk sold for $450.
A non running Troy Bilt tiller sold for $150
A nice running Snapper riding mower sold for $140
This is the old Glendale one room school...It used to be 1/2 mile south but after closing in 1951 it was sold and was moved to the Darlington farm where it still sits today. Looking northeast from the sale..We have been in a small drought area but some nice rains this week helped the soybeans..Lots of the corn is poor and will only make 40-80 bushels per acre..Some was appraised at 20-40 bu per acre and is being chopped for silage...While some places in my area have only had 2-3 inches of rain for June and July other areas mostly to the north have had 15-20 inches of rain...Warrensburg,MO had 9.55 inches of rain Thursday night and a large area to the south-southwest of it had 5-10 inches of rain.
