FWIW, I had the same problem a few months ago on a 245 diesel, it would start but only ran a few minutes then wouldn't start. As Jim.ME mentioned it "could" be the strainer in the fuel shut-off on the tank. When I pulled it out it was clogged with all sorts of junk. I cleaned it out and it ran fine. I changed the filter first but it just wasn't getting enough fuel. Good Luck with yours!
