The 34 pulls much harder than the 35. I started farming with a 35 and did lots of custom work with a 4020 and 2 row head. We chopped so much that we wore the cutterhead door through. I replaced that 35 with this one that had only filled 2 12x40 silos and had never had the knives sharpened. I also have a 3940 which we did most of the chopping with untill we sold the dairy cows. It does pull easier than the 35 and we like the small knives for chopping hay as you can replace one or two easy when stone damaged. We now just let the hay head on the 3940 and use the others for corn silage and sorghum. I also have a 12 with a 6ft direct cut head we chop small grain silage with. Tom
