Finally had an appointment with my surgeon yesterday. We did the pre-register for surgery and had a lengthy talk with the surgeon. He is going to go in through ther front, says it allows quicker down time. He tells me that I will spend at least the night in the hospital and will be up walking as soon as the numbness works off. No feeding livestock or getting around the shop till wound heals up and no tractor till at least 2 and probably 3 weeks/ he says my hip will let me know after that when I can push the clutch (he doesn't know about the WD Ally with the hand clutch). He's a young guy but I like him, he talks so everyone can get a grasp of what he's saying and don't seem to care how long he's with you and will answer all questions you have. Now we have to get the exam from my VA nurse Practitioner and she has me scheduled for sep't 23, I was scheduled for October 30th to see her but she bumped me up so I can get it done. I'll have to get the COVID swab and EKG and Lab work a few days before surgery. So maybe I'll be able to walk without pain in the left side before too long. Now all I have to do is get the 2nd cutting of hay done before surgery. Hay isn't nearly ready but gonna cut it anyway, it;ll beat a snowball as Dad used to say.

I have been a collector of Farmall tractors since 1990 when I first obtained part of the family farm in Eastern Indiana. My current collection includes a 1938 F20, 1945 H, 1946 H, and the recently purchased 1951 H. This article will focus on what I encountered and what I did to bring the 1951 NEAR DEATH Farmall H back to life.
