also check Every place it transfers power, I have seen many times it be the connection between the distributor post and the breaker mounting plate/ mounting plate and points has rusted and is not giving full voltage,, easy to check with a volt meter if the other suggestions here do not pan out,, I also like to turn the engine until the points close and use a screw driver to open the points for testing with the coil wire set close to a ground a whole lot easier to diagnosis than turning the engine to me,, cnt
