A small link chain works better, and the smaller the better too until the chain isn't strong enough. I have some chains made with 1/4" wire and links a bit over an inch long. The Super H can't break it, but I got one chain from Dad that his M, now My M, stretched every link so tight the chain wouldn't bend. The bigger 5/16" and 3/8" chains won't grip brush and saplings at all. If you get a big coarse tooth 12 inch long Sawz-All blade you can cut the roots off below the ground surface. Another good thing about saplings is they rot out faster than BIG tree trunks.
