There was only a couple of times my wife hit the roof. I had been to Archbold OH a few times with my neighbor and they had a gas 4020 that didn't sell in several auctions. Finally it would not start. Some one had stolen the original gas cap and it got water in the fuel. After the sale I made an offer and they told me it was too low but that they would check with the owner. They called and left a message while I was at work that I owned a tractor, which she heard. That was in 2000 and I still have it. The second time I was at the RF auction and made an opening bid on a Farm-All 400 of $1200, it was also the closing bid. The boys where still small and beat me into the house. "Dad bought us a tractor" didn't fly very well. They are 25 now and I still have it too. Those of you who have 400s know they are a pretty good horse, where else could you get power steering and a live PTO for $1200, I don't think anybody ever built a better starting tractor.

Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
