In our area there is a good bit of packer competition so any color of beef will sell good if properly fatttened. Even the heavier fat cattle only have a slight discount per pound. I have a mostly black moma cow herd and finish my calves. The only drawback to the black cows is their disposition. It is very hard to get them to do anything they don't want to.Stir them up at all and they get very aggressive and almost dangerous. My cows are older range cattle hauled in from NE and KS. Maybe hand raised cattle would be easier to handle. Tom
